Smaller Circle, Bigger Vision, Brighter Future – ‘Be Selective With Your Inner Circle’

Find peace and power in recognising that it’s okay to be conscious and selective with the people you choose to devote your time and energy to

Quality over quantity!:

Living in a society that places a high value on image and popularity through association, can easily open the door to fake friendships involving much jealousy or negativity. If anything, nowadays it has become even more challenging to find genuine, long-lasting associations that are in it for the right reasons especially when meeting new people. But let’s be real, time means absolutely nothing when it comes to relationships, meaning that you can know someone your whole life and easily terminate that friendship, yet meet someone spontaneously and form a more powerful, meaningful connection. Though, there is no determining who is actually meant to be in your life without a trial and error experience. Throughout the course of your journey, you live and you learn when meeting all types of people, some introduce negative situations yet others promote influential experiences for your future but, that’s all depending on how selective YOU choose to be from NOW!

You see. the objective here is to be careful when selecting your most trustworthy inner circle, because like I said, we are living in a time where digital platforms make it so easy to make friends just by connecting. The sad truth is that in some ways culture has glorified living a somewhat “bait” lifestyle, meaning that the more people you know the more popular you are resulting in the prevailing theory that you are provided with more opportunities, which is in fact true. And so in that case, it’s only natural for us to want to supersize our network of connections both online and off to greater the chances of being exposed to endless opportunities that may lead to professional advancements, potential collaborations, social success and so on. Except, the idea isn’t to become “bait” but rather, to surround yourself with the right types of people who share common beliefs and values that admire and respect your character. Basically, aim to select people who will set the tone for the foundation of your larger network. However, to create this sort of association, the core group should be a lot smaller than you think.

The problem is that a large majority of people tend to build their relationships very casually, connecting with just anyone who seems nice enough to communicate with them. In this situation due to your open-mindedness, you probably miss the red signs of that individual and as a result, people you barely know are most likely making demands on your time but, because of your kind nature, you may be accommodating them. It’s actually a very easy mistake to make, trust me, but like I said “you live and you learn”. By giving your time to a large number of people rather than, a selective group you are making far less of an impact in life. It’s more valuable to acknowledge the fewer people in your inner circle because they are the ones who shall deeply and profoundly influence you. So with that being said, do some relationship housekeeping, clean out the disloyal people and keep in mind that there is no need to populate your inner circle instead seek to find the nurturing relationships with good, smart people who essentially can help you to be a bigger and better version of yourself.

In other words, you need to be ruthlessly selective with the people you chose to be in your life. As you narrow your inner circle, you’ll begin designing your future accordingly and as you forge deeper, more authentic relationships with smaller numbers of people you will gain more context into their desires and needs, and they will equally develop a fuller understanding of you because those selected people will be genuinely important to you.
